Ever been in the middle of conversation with someone and they’re going on and on about something they want to do but won’t or can’t for a thousand reason that you’ve heard a million times?

Forest For The Trees
If you’ve read a few of my posts you are probably well aware of my love of music – head rock in particular. So, it might surprise you to know that my all time favorite artist/band is Huey Lewis and the News. I have loved these guys since the first time I heard “The Heart of Rock and Roll.”
Poetry Friday – How? Why? What?
How do you know the heart in me; when I hardly know it myself?
How do you love me so completely, when I cannot let go?
How do you know just what to say when I’m about to cry?
How do you know what the answer is and I do not know why?
Thursday Special – Independence Day 2013
I intended to write what would amount to a treatise on the importance of the Declaration of Independence to our history and our future but after reading it again for myself – something I try to do a couple times a year – I decided that the words written by Thomas Jefferson – 238 years ago – do just fine on their own.
I highly encourage you to take a few minutes today and read the text of the most important document in American history.
Enjoy.
50th Post, Friday Poetry and Shameless Plug
Hello readers,
Thank you, in advance, for stopping by. I honestly appreciate you sharing your time with me and my thoughts. Friday’s have become the day that I have been posting my version of poems. Today’s is titled “Adrift” and it is a lot more sing songy than I normally write – I blame Hair Metal. Please let me know what you think.
Bible Study and the Art of Eating Chips
Food For Thought
There is nothing I like more than a good bag of chips. Nothing is more satisfying that digging into a fresh bag of salty slices of deep fried potato. I could easily sit and consume an entire bag without giving it or life a single thought.
I like plain chips – with ridges not flat, except Pringles. I like spicy chips, salty chips, chips with cheese and I really like BBQ chips. Recently, I discovered “kettle cooked” chips and let me just say, “where’s the next bag?”
No, really!
Sunday Special – Father’s Day, Don’t Assume It’s Happy
When I sat down to write about Father’s Day, it was my intention to talk about the positive things and the great things about dads in general and – for me – the great things about being a dad.
Then I started thinking about all the statistics I have read over the last few years as I have been working with men and men’s groups – the few that we’ve had – at our church. And, men, the sad truth is…
WE’RE NOT DOING THE JOB!
Baseball, Believers and Values
In baseball, well sports in general, most teams have a certain way they approach things. Some teams pay particular attention to hitting, others pitching, most talk about fundamentals and getting the little things or “basics” right. This is usually referred to as the – since I live in the Tampa area I will pay homage to my home team first – “Ray’s” way or the “Buccaneer” way but I have also heard it called the “Steelers” way among others.
