Jesus, Poetry, the life, the truth, Truth
You like to think that you have yours and I have mine.
What’s right for you is not for me.
There’s no absolute, only shade from a different tree.
Sometimes we bend, others omit, You say there’s degrees;
but the reality is, you just refuse to see.
No ebb no flow, no shifting light. The final pronouncement
ends the night.
Your guilt shouted down, hidden by volume, pride defends the lies you swallow.
Your hate misdirected, aimed at the sky; unjustified rage, mental incarceration.
You’re being tortured by your own head.
It’s all just a lie. One that you believe.
The Truth is a gift – you just have to receive.

anger, bitternees, forgivness, Jesus, Poetry, pride
The following IS NOT me or my thoughts. Not that I have not felt some of them perhaps all of them from time to time. We all have. Only one person in history has gone through their life and not held a grudge, not felt bitterness, not forgiven. Even on the cross, Scripture tells us that when Jesus, “…was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly” (1 Peter 2:23).

Editor’s Note* – This morning I am only publishing a short poem titled “untitled” as I am being featured on the site Careless in the Care of God as a guest poster – not like one you’d find in your bedroom, assuming your a teenager still. You can get to her site at the link above or by clicking here. To get to my post click here or here.
The site belongs to my new friend April Best and It would be great if you check out some of her posts and showed her some comment love while you’re there – please let her know how you found her site – we love that sort of thing. Now, without further ado…

graveyard shift, overnights, Poetry, random thoughts
*Note: Several years ago I worked for Kinko’s Copies – they no longer exist so I can use their name. I wrote a lot in those days. I frequently carried a sheet of paper around in the really awful aprons they forced us to wear. I would fold up a sheet and cover it with random thoughts or ideas whenever something struck me – not all of it constitutes “poetry” as such. What follows are some of the things I wrote on a random night at some point between 1993 and 2007. The pictures are the originals, they include things that I am not typing out – feel free to check them out and let me know what you think.
And now, without further ado I present “Poems from the graveyard”

Hello readers,

Thank you, in advance, for stopping by. I honestly appreciate you sharing your time with me and my thoughts. Friday’s have become the day that I have been posting my version of poems. Today’s is titled “Adrift” and it is a lot more sing songy than I normally write – I blame Hair Metal. Please let me know what you think.
