Hello readers,
Thank you, in advance, for stopping by. I honestly appreciate you sharing your time with me and my thoughts. Friday’s have become the day that I have been posting my version of poems. Today’s is titled “Adrift” and it is a lot more sing songy than I normally write – I blame Hair Metal. Please let me know what you think.
Now for the plug – Please, if you like my Friday posts, or you’re enjoying my other “deeper” posts I would greatly appreciate your helping me by “liking” my posts, or my FB page or by “sharing them on on your FB page or even Pintrist. You can tweet my posts to your followers or, if you have not already done so, follow me yourself. You can submit your email address – I promise to not abuse the privilege – and you’ll be notified when I publish something new. But – and this would mean the most to me – I would LOVE it if you left some comments below the posts.
Now without further ado I present Friday Poetry –
ADRIFT
Set adrift, an endless sea; I cannot see the shore.
I climb the mast to find my way; lost forever more.
Born of hate not scared of death; I fail to make the run.
Fight to the end, I won’t back down.
My rest is in the Son.
A smuggler’s heart, I hear the call I feel the hammer strike.
Cold as steel upon my lips; so kiss my starry eyes.
Alone again I search for peace; I race against the skies.
Where are you now?
Why did you leave and when will you return?
I’ll wait until you fill the air while those around us burn.
I reach my hands up to the sky; some claim faith is for the weak
I will not quit or turn away, salvation I still seek.
