I need to figure out how to abide in Christ (John 15:4) throughout my day. I do well in the mornings. I read scripture, do a devotional and pray – sometimes I don’t even nod off – but then loose my connection as real life begins.
I listen to Christian music most every day but still don’t feel God’s presence.
Maybe it has nothing to do with how I feel. Which is an odd way to think about life. Almost everything in life is based on feelings.
And therein, lies the problem.
Perhaps, I need to pay less attention to my feelings and more attention to the facts.
My feelings tell me I am not loved, I’m alone, I’m a loser (quitter, failure, fat, ugly, short, FILL IN YOUR OWN ADJECTIVE), etc.
But that IS NOT what God’s word – the FACTS – says.
The Bible says, I am loved, chosen, adopted into the family of God, co-heir with Christ, more than a conqueror and this is just the beginning.
These are the facts and they are true even when I don’t feel like I am winning much less conquering.
What are some things that your feeling use and do to deceive you? What are some facts that you cling to for strength? How do you abide?
I would love to talk about it with you.
